SPOILERS ahead for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continued last night and in an explosive episode, Jeffrey Mace was captured by The Superior, a new Inhuman was born and the sinister Dr. Holden Radcliffe introduced his ex-girlfriend to the best virtual reality experience around. It was revealed that as part of the villain’s master plan, he had constructed a Matrix-esque world called The Framework which Radcliffe stated - obviously unaware how much he was living up to the evil scientist stereotype - could cure death and suffering itself....

Apple announced AirPods Pro 2 during its “Far Out” event. While everyone keeps talking about the new Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro series, there’s one product the Cupertino company outdid itself with – and it’s AirPods Pro 2. AirPods Pro 2 have everything you need – and more – but Apple has yet to announce one more feature this product could offer. AirPods Pro 2 might look the same at first glance, but Apple rebuilt these wireless earbuds....

Making a critically and commercially successful live-action anime adaptation seems to be harder than convincing Master Roshi to adopt a life of monkhood. As with big screen video game translations, it feels as if whatever source material movie producers choose to adapt, the end result is a disappointing and often directionless effort that fails to either please existing fans of the franchise or draw in a new, more mainstream audience....

One of the most important aspects of making a film is casting. Even if the most talented director is calling the shots behind the camera, the stars of the show need to be up to par in order for the movie to leave a real impact with audiences. Filmmakers have to make sure they have the right thespian for every role, so often times several talents are tested for Hollywood’s biggest parts....

To call October something of an underwhelming month wouldn’t be entirely false, as there was nary a runaway hit to be found at the box office. Films like The Girl on the Train, The Accountant and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back performed decently enough amid mixed reviews, while Boo! A Madea Halloween proved that the Tyler Perry’s mega-hit franchise still has tremendous widespread appeal more than a decade after Madea made her big-screen debut in Diary of a Mad Black Woman....

The award-winning drama series Big Little Lies is back on HBO, allowing viewers to follow up with the ladies in Monterey, CA after the murder investigation of Perry Wright. The ladies have seemingly walked away unscathed, with police authorities appearing to be content with the story that Perry slipped and fell. However, Bonnie, who did the pushing herself, feels a tremendous sense of guilt and can’t seem to get herself out of a funk....

Marvel’s television empire has grown into an array of shows across many networks and streaming platforms. After the tremendous success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, television in Marvel’s world has branched out from the tightly connected Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to MCU spin-offs like Daredevil and Jessica Jones to increasingly diverse shows like The Gifted and Runaways. From the beginning, Marvel shows were put in the unique and difficult position of producing superheroes related to the blockbuster Marvel movies that have been hitting the theaters regularly....

It seems like our bizarre obsession with doppelgängers or lookalikes is in no danger of subsiding any time soon. It’s a spooky but rather satisfying thing to know that there could be someone out there who looks in the mirror and sees the same reflection as you do. Yes, it’s incredibly narcissistic, too. AMC’s award-winning series The Walking Dead has spawned a devoted worldwide following and crushed viewership records year in and year out. Now in the middle of its seventh season, the show continues to follow up the success of Robert Kirkman’s critically acclaimed comic book series of the same name. Going into its sixteenth year, TWD has raised the bar for comics unrelated to superheroes, and has been a consistent best seller for Image since its introduction in 2002....

Firefly was a great show. In fact, it may not be stretching things to say it was the most beloved show in all of fandom. However, that popularity didn’t happen all at once. It’s a show whose popularity was a function of word of mouth. New fans come to Firefly year after year by watching it on Netflix or being loaned the Blu-Ray set by their friends. Warner Brothers has taken a lot of steps to provide a cohesive interconnected movie universe with the DCEU. It may not be as old as the MCU or as universally beloved, but its less welcoming and accessible tone is just what its fans enjoy about it. Regardless of opinion, several of the films have aroused significant interest from audiences. For example, 2017’s Wonder Woman grossed more then $800 million worldwide off of an approximately $149 million budget....

Over the years, there have been several attempts to create crossovers between Marvel and DC characters, resulting in some pretty epic clashes. However, there is one fight that superhero fans are despiarate to find out the outcome of: who would win in a a fight between Black Panther and Batman? These characters are an ideal match-up due to the many similarities between the two. Both are extremely wealthy, they are some of the most intelligent characters in their respective universes, they are practitioners of virtually every form of known martial arts, and they possess an arsenal of weapons, gadgets, and vehicles at their disposal....

Spider-Man: Homecoming was a welcome breath of fresh air, being the first widely considered “good” Spider-Man movie in over a decade. Using clever story elements, an emotionally relatable villain, and the brilliant acting of Tom Holland, Spider-Man: Homecoming became a truly beloved Marvel movie, but that’s not to say it was necessarily perfect. Many fans were irritated by certain elements of the film, with certain problems becoming a little more irritating than others....

The MCU may be about the entire Avengers team, but right from the beginning, Iron Man has taken center stage in the narrative. With the explosive popularity of Robert Downey Jr., Tony Stark has become the defacto leader of The Avengers and in many ways the main protagonist of the MCU. Even in Infinity War, despite the presence of other heroes, the enmity between Tony and the main villain of the piece, Thanos, feels oddly personal....
