According to 13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford, Hannah Baker will be very different when the show returns for season 2. The controversial teen drama first premiered last spring, tracing the months leading up to Hannah’s suicide through a series of tapes she left behind. Despite some pushback for its candid depictions of topics like bullying, suicide, and sexual assault, it fast became a runaway hit, and though initially billed as a limited series, landed a renewal from Netflix in response....

For children of the 1990s and 2000s, there was never really ever a shortage of cartoons created purely for their entertainment. While that time period certainly found the rise of animated entertainment aimed at adults – with the immense popularity of series such as The Simpsons, Family Guy, and South Park attesting to this phenomenon – the fact of the matter remains that animation, and namely animated television series, have been primarily targeted at children – and in steadily increasing numbers....

One of the striking things about many DC comics heroes is how fine the line is between their good persona and supervillainy. From the grim streets of Gotham to the potential for a dominating Superman, even the brightest heroes could fall. And we love to see that happen. Only recently we saw some fantastic canon alternate Batmen in the Dark Knights plot arc. One of the greatest tragedies in TV history is Joss Whedon’s sci-fi western Firefly being cut way too short. Despite its now cult following, Firefly only lasted one season as its viewership numbers failed to impress the executives at Fox. It’s a crying shame that this television series wasn’t given its fair dues at the time, as its plotlines, actors, and directing certainly deserved more acclaim than it got when aired....

For seven years, Christian Bale was the world’s Batman. His scowling face, his growling voice, and his ice-cold demeanor have defined the Dark Knight for modern superhero fans. He won back moviegoers who were turned off of the Caped Crusader by George Clooney’s nipples and Joel Schumacher’s Dutch tilts and he remains the one true Batman in the hearts of some fans who aren’t impressed by Batfleck. The years since Bale hung up the Batsuit have been kind to him....

It’s amazing the difference a good cameo can make to a movie. After all, by their nature, these minor roles comprise only a fraction of a film’s overall runtime so, in theory, they really shouldn’t make much of an impact. Yet the surprise appearance of a famous face – or a knock-out performance by an unrecognizable A-list actor – can not only elevate a bit part into a memorable turn, but also drastically improve how well a picture is received overall....

Full of twists and turns and misleading moments, Fight Club is the psychological thriller to end all psychological thrillers. It stars Brad Pitt and Edward Norton who (if you haven’t seen the film, go away and watch it before reading the next sentence) are the same person in a strange, imaginary friend sort of way. Despite the incredible cinematography, fantastic writing, and incomparable acting, the film still has its fair share of continuity errors, and we’ve listed ten of them....

Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings movies are nothing short of masterpieces. This is in strong contrast to what he did with his Hobbit trilogy, which, for the most part, was a mess due to unnecessary changes and additions to J.R.R. Tolkien’s original work. The Lord of the Rings trilogy, on the other hand, maintained thematic consistency with the original novels. But that doesn’t mean that the filmmakers didn’t change things....

Few genre series in recent memory have proven to be more frustrating than ABC’s 2011-2018 series Once Upon A Time. What began as a series with an original, engaging premise soon devolved into nothing but bad writing, Disney movie cross promotion, and plot twists substituted for actual narrative coherence. Characters evolved and regressed at the drop of a hat - almost as though their actions were chosen out of a hat at random....

This past February marked the 20th anniversary of the release of Happy Gilmore. Adam Sandler and company probably couldn’t have predicted that the success of this film and Billy Madison would kick off a production company (named after the two films), a series of financially successful (if not critically successful) films, and millions of dollars of box office revenue. Happy Gilmore has a large, devoted fanbase, and it makes sense. The movie hits a perfect sweet spot of silly and heartful, and it is endlessly quotable....

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, is nearly upon us. This yearly gathering of all the top video game publishers and developers is where the biggest game announcements are made. Last year saw the announcement of Shenmue III, a remake of Final Fantasy VII, and the revival of The Last Guardian, among many other surprises. E3 2016 is going to have to be truly spectacular to top last year’s show....

In 1998, a show debuted on the WB that brought a little magic into people’s lives for one hour every week. The story centered around the Halliwell sisters – played by Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, Shannen Doherty, and Rose McGowan – a group of witch siblings who were tasked by the powers that be to defeat the supernatural evil beings that posed a threat to our world. For eight seasons, Charmed dazzled us with episodes featuring angels, demons, and other mythological friends and foes....

As fans were still grappling with the disappointing finale to Game of Thrones, another acclaimed HBO series managed to wrap up its story in a very satisfying way. Deadwood: The Movie was the long-awaited conclusion to the vulgar and brilliant Western series that fans had been waiting over a decade to see. After the series was abruptly canceled after three seasons, many questions were left open. Now, as with the trend of the day, the series got its revival all these years later....

After many years of waiting, fans of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series can finally look forward to the saga making it to the big screen. Set to be released on February 17, 2016, The Dark Tower movie (if well-received) will form the cornerstone in what has the potential to become a lavish tapestry of movies, tied into a TV series, tied into books, tied into comics…and on it goes....

Hogwarts might be this magical school that many readers of the Harry Potter series wanted to attend, but it wasn’t always all it is cracked up to be. While going to school to learn magic would be a dream, there were many truly unsafe and ridiculous things that happened in the walls of Hogwarts during Harry’s time there. Video game publishing juggernaut Electronic Arts is skipping E3 this year, the biggest annual video game trade show event, and they’re doing so to host their own big event for fans and media. One of the games that will be there, a game EA already confirmed is one the ways this fiscal year, is Battlefield 5. There’s an argument to be made that with this upcoming installment EA and developer DICE need to deliver big, more than they have on any prior installment....

There’s nothing like a good twist. Although it’s rare for a movie to have one big central twist and even rarer for that twist to be satisfying, huge plot changes that subvert all expectations happen frequently on TV. The longer form of story-telling on TV opens the possibilities up tremendously to a big and revolutionary twist. There’s so much more time to tell and build up to a big plot twist on TV that can make the big move so satisfying....
