When acclaimed director Ava DuVernay passed on the opportunity to direct Black Panther for Marvel Studios, many wondered whether the filmmaker could find a project that would match its scope. While it doesn’t have a comic book pedigree, A Wrinkle In Time is a novel that has been read for generations and also has story that spans the galaxy. So, there will certainly still be a lot of eyes on DeVernay’s next big project....

The first trailer and poster for Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time have made their debut at D23. Directed by Ava DuVernay. A Wrinkle in Time is an adaptation of the 1963 sci-fi novel of the same name, by Madeline L’Engle. While a Canadian TV adaptation was produced in 2003, the book has yet to receive the big screen treatment - and given its popularity, it seems long overdue. Following on from her success with Selma, DuVernay has become the first African-American woman to direct a live-action movie with a $100 million + budget....

The latest episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., “The Force of Gravity,” left the S.H.I.E.L.D. team faced with an impossible dilemma; should they save Phil Coulson, or should they save the world? Season 5 has revisited a number of key plot points from the last five seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., most recently the Centipede Serum. Introduced back in season 1, it seems the Centipede Serum can be used to save Phil Coulson....

Harry Potter is never ending. While the collective world mourned the loss of a beloved book series and then movie franchise, there was always going to be more to come. Die-hard fans and casual readers/viewers alike feverishly await the upcoming trilogy brought to life by the mind of J.K. Rowling, but questions remain about whether or not it will live up to the strengths of the original series. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hits theaters this fall, and will kick off what Warner Bros....

Directors come and go in the James Bond franchise. Sam Mendes, previously known for smaller films like American Beauty and Revolutionary Road, has helmed the last two installments - Skyfall and Spectre. The previous two films were directed by Martin Campbell and Marc Forster, respectively. But Mendes has decided not to helm the untitled Bond 25, so the job is now up for grabs. Over the past few years, Hollywood has devised a strategy of taking unknown filmmakers, often having only a few small works to their name, and having them take on big, massive franchises....

Directed by Steven Soderbergh and based off a screenplay written by Reid Carolin, Magic Mike is also loosely inspired by one of Hollywood’s leading men, Channing Tatum. Based in southern Florida, Tatum portrays the life of a 19-year-old who is forced to turn to dancing in order to make some money, but it turns out he’s quite good at it. The story follows the group on and off of the stage, adding an element of comedy and drama to the musical productions....

River Monsters, which recently ended its eight-year run, was one of the most successful and beloved series that Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel has aired (sorry, American Stuffers). It followed angler and conservationist Jeremy Wade on his worldwide hunt to figure out the truth behind local tales of dangerous, terrifying fish. This almost always ended in him catching a huge animal and showing the audience that the people telling the stories are totally right to be afraid....

“Hulk is strongest there is!” That’s something the Hulk has proclaimed on many an occasion. It’s a pretty bold statement from someone who absolutely isn’t the strongest there is. In fact, he’s not all that close but, then again, the gamma-powered Avenger never was the brightest bulb in the box. Sure, staunch fans of the character will claim that he has unlimited potential strength, but we can only go by what we’ve seen him do on-panel, and comic books have shown that the Hulk certainly has his limits....

Netflix Originals began with House of Cards in 2013. It was unique for the streaming service because the show had high production value and strong, A-list actors and actresses. Because House of Cards proved Netflix could compete with traditional networks, the show paved the way for multitudes of original programming. For the past several years, Netflix has continuously increased its budget for new programs, taking more chances on exclusive content and pulling in big-name actors....

The CW is television’s ultimate source for irresistible melodrama, and the biggest reason for that are the various CW couples. From fleeting romances to iconic partners, the shows on this network are notorious for creating different pairs of characters to see how their relationships unfold. Because no relationship — romantic or not — is interesting to watch without drama, it’s pretty likely that any given couple on screen will break up or be teased out - or both....

Netflix’s original crime-comedy film Murder Mystery, starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, has set a new streaming record. Set in the same vein of a whodunit mystery as Clue and Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, Murder Mystery marks one of several Sandler-produced - and fronted - movies available exclusively for the streaming giant. Directed by Kyle Newacheck, Murder Mystery follows Nick (Sandler) and Audrey (Aniston) Spitz, a married couple whose romance and enchantment has been replaced with predictability and stale conversations....

While there are no purely good characters in the world of Westeros (at least not ones who survive), Tyrion Lannister is the best of a relatively rotten bunch in many people’s eyes. A Song of Ice and Fire author George R. R. Martin has repeatedly named Tyrion as his favorite character in his book series, and many fans of the novels as well as the show feel the same way. He’s witty, he has some level of morals, and he was born into life as an underdog due to his appearance and his perpetual conflict with his family members....
