When Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice introduced moviegoers to all the members of the Justice League, Warner Bros. announced solo movies for all of them. However, although Wonder Woman and Aquaman have enjoyed those promised solo outings, the Flash and Cyborg’s movies have been perpetually delayed. The first standalone film for Ray Fisher’s Victor Stone a.k.a. Cyborg was supposed to be released in 2020, but while it hasn’t officially been canceled, it doesn’t seem like it’ll be making that date....

A new Kuo report yesterday suggested that we can expect new AirPods with lossless audio support – more specifically, an AirPods Pro 2 model that allows users to listen to ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec). This was given additional weight by Apple’s AirPods lead hinting to What HiFi that the company may have plans for achieving the wireless bandwidth needed for lossless audio. However, while I do think this is a likely development, I don’t think we should get too excited about it …...
It appears Lionsgate is finally moving forward with their long-gestating Harry Houdini movie. Producer Frank Marshall (Gremlins, Back to the Future) is stewarding the project which will present Houdini as an adventurer, master of magic, and an investigator of the occult. Instead of producing a standard biopic, Lionsgate aims is to create a swashbuckling version of the character in the mould of Indiana Jones. The film has been spinning its wheels in development hell since 2009, now looks as though it’s gaining some traction....
Now that X-Men: Apocalypse has wrapped up, director Bryan Singer has finally called it quits and is all set to hand over the reigns to someone else, probably with a different vision for what these movies need to look like. Love or hate his work, Singer has done massive amounts of work to craft the X-Men film universe from his original vision in the first film from 2000, and sometimes sneakily obliterate the work that other people have done via retcon when he was feeling vindictive....

We love the main characters of the Fast & Furious franchise. But as great as they are, it’s just as much about the cars, isn’t it? AirTag can be a simple and cost effective way to recover any lost or stolen items. One Australian man just found this out over the weekend as he searched for $7,000 worth of stolen photography gear. Graham Tait, a Sydney, Australia-based photographer was traveling when over $7,000 worth of gear was taken from his car in the parking lot of his hotel. Tait told 9News, “my car was broken into whilst we were travelling in the Flinders Ranges last night and they took a laptop bag and camera – both of which had AirTags fitted....

It’s not easy being bad. Portraying a villain in a movie is tough, and typically unrewarding. While some movie villains have famously (and deservedly) won awards for their roles, like Denzel Washington in Training Day or Kathy Bates in Misery, the movie villain is often a role overlooked by the Academy. We aren’t about to go postulating on why that is… but likely part of it is that it is difficult to make a villain both as bad as they need to be and as human or vulnerable as they need to seem to be (even a little) sympathetic....
