Netflix continues to be a rock-solid tour de force in the world of modern cinema. Though the screens on which its original series and movies are presented are a far cry from those at your local cineplex, they still hold strong. Day after day, Netflix churns out fresh content at an intimidating pace. It’s a company that craves original material, has gained a reputation for giving creative control to the filmmakers it brings on board, and it plans on pushing the film and television industry in new directions....

Created by Michael Hirst, Vikings has been a hit for the History Channel. Although the first season originally aired back in 2013, the show has steadily amassed a strong fan base over the years. Initially, the show followed the adventures of Viking warrior king, Ragnar Lothbrok, and now has moved on to explore the story of his sons. They are the #1 and #2 most successful superhero movies of all time. Deadpool 2, also released this year, will surely go over $300 million....

Batman has been avenging his parents and defending Gotham for nearly 80 years now. Sure, Gotham is still a cesspit, but we’ll chalk that up to the town being cursed rather than questioning the efficacy of Batman’s war on crime. Either way, we can’t really blame the guy for recruiting some help. And Bats has recruited a lot of help over the decades, ranging from his ever-expanding stable of Robins to several Batgirls, plus a couple of replacement Batmen for when Bruce was on vacation and/or dead, and multiple teams of allies for when things get really dicey....

In the first six out of the eight movies in the Harry Potter series, Harry and his friends and peers make their trek to Hogwarts aboard the Hogwarts Express. With the exception of Harry and Ron’s highly illegal maneuver they partake in by driving the Weasley family’s flying car to Hogwarts, the Hogwarts Express is shown to be the only method of transportation onto school grounds. For book readers, this was always an opportunity for a fresh introduction, but in the films, many parts were cut out to avoid repetition and save on time....

Saber Interactive’s World War Z has taken players by storm with its intense zombie action, but there are a few things that could make the game even better - whether those things are gameplay mechanics or level designs. World War Z is great, but it’s certainly not a perfect game. With a little more work, World War Z could evolve from one of the breakout hits of 2019 to a classic co-op action game for all-time....

The writers of A Quiet Place have revealed they briefly thought about making it a Cloverfield movie. Thanks to its innovative marketing campaign the original Cloverfield proved to be a sleeper hit back in 2008, but despite leaving a few narrative threads open a direct sequel never happened. Instead, producer J.J. Abrams took an unrelated movie called The Cellar that worked on its own as a great thriller and decided to shoot new footage to make it a spiritual sequel dubbed 10 Cloverfield Lane....
