After his breakthrough exposure on a few episodes of the reality series Dirty Jobs, exterminator Billy Bretherton was soon approached by A&E to have a show centered around him and his pest control business. Initially called The Exterminators– a strangely generic name given that Billy himself is the obvious star attraction– producers smartly changed the title to the more fitting Billy the Exterminator following the first season. Like any compelling reality show, Billy the Exterminator isn’t just about its lead character but the people around him, in this case his colleagues– who just happen to consist largely of his own family....

Television shows go through a process many people are familiar with involving the creation of a pilot episode. These are made after a concept is pitched to a network using a small amount of money as a sort of proposal episode in the process of getting the green light for production. If all goes well, a pilot is picked up by a network and given a series order for an upcoming season....

Solo: A Star Wars Story was one of 2018’s most anticipated films. But for many, it turned out to be one of the year’s biggest disappointments. Han Solo seemed like the perfect character for a spin-off film with a mysterious past filled with exciting characters. Unfortunately, many fans found the film predictable and dull compared to the more epic Star Wars films. While the film did bring back beloved characters like Lando and Chewie, some of the newer characters felt weak....

When it comes to power scaling, the twenty-something Power Rangers teams are hard to rank. For one, they have many different types of power sources they use, ranging anywhere from man-made technology from the year 3000 that opens time portals to mystic coins that summon the spirit of ancient ninja animal spirits for protection. Most people will argue that, since the Power Rangers franchise doesn’t stand up to scrutiny since it’s so absurd, inconsistent, and nonsensical, accurately ranking any teams’ power over the other is a futile effort best saved for playground debates....

The premiere of Doctor Strange earlier this month finally brought the Sorcerer Supreme into the MCU. While his world saw a few changes from the comics, it was a fairly faithful adaptation of the story of Stephen Strange and the magical universe he inhabits. The movie even managed to overcome one of Marvel’s few flaws by providing us with an intriguing villain who, while vanquished, is unlikely gone for good....

The original 1984 Ghostbusters was simply a phenomenon in its time, a revelation of comedy and horror. From the director of Meatballs and Stripes, Ivan Reitman’s third go-around with Bill Murray struck absolute gold. It had much sharper wit and creativity, and the entire cast seemed born for their roles. But this franchise has already seen two more iterations, and even five years later, the first sequel basically felt like cozy nostalgia....

Happy Gilmore featured The Price is Right host Bob Barker beating the crap of the title character. The Waterboy saw former NFL player Lawrence Taylor seeking the advice of Bobby Boucher. Little Nicky, meanwhile, contained a slew of cameos including one by Ozzy Osbourne that saw the musician bite the head off of a bat....

DC comic fans have seen a lot of heroes and villains they never thought they would ever see in live action thanks to The CW shows Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. And because all these are set in one universe, the “Arrowverse” as fans like to say, it’s even more exciting seeing heroes and villains interact with each other on different shows and settings. In fact it’s very clear based on the box office and critical reception of a lot of DC films that the DC TV universe is doing much better than its film universe....

With Marvel’s Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D. on winter hiatus, Marvel’s Agent Carter is once again taking its place during ABC’s Tuesday night line up, airing all ten episodes of its second season from January through March of 2016. Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) is returning at the titular hero, working to distinguish herself at the Strategic Scientific Reserve, overcome rampant near-cartoonish sexism, and thwart crime. Following its eight episode Season 1 set in New York City, the spy action thriller is relocating Carter to sunny Los Angeles for Season 2....
