So, the characters from A Series of Unfortunate Events will never end up at Hogwarts…though we’re sure that some of them would love the opportunity. But what houses would they end up in, given the chance to find out? The more you think about it, the more clear it becomes which character belongs to which house. It helps that the four Hogwarts Houses (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, and Ravenclaw) all have fairly distinct and strong traits....

[This is a review of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3, episode 14. There will be SPOILERS.] – Last week, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. took a bit of a break from their ongoing storyline bringing in Inhumans and taking on Hydra to offer a fond farewell to Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) in ‘Parting Shot’. The episode was somewhat of a backdoor pilot for the pair’s spinoff series, Marvel’s Most Wanted, and largely let the the Secret Warriors, as led by Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) and growing threat of Hydra take a back seat, while Hive (Brett Dalton) was absent entirely....

There is no better time to look back on Sons of Anarchy, one of the most popular and acclaimed series that FX ever aired, than the present. Television shows shoot multiple takes of the same scene and then put together the final episode in editing. However, not every mistake is caught in editing, and Arrow has mistakes in it just like any other series. The Oscars, the yearly award ceremony where The Academy of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences spotlights the best and brightest of Hollywood, has been plagued for years by complaints that it is out of touch with audiences and the changing landscape of the cinematic world. The lack of diversity among AMPAAS members in terms of background, ethnicity and age (an increasing majority tend to be older white actors, many of whom no longer work regularly in the industry) has been blamed for many of The Oscar’s alleged shortcomings, including a seeming disregard for comedic performances and a perceived bias against horror, science-fiction, fantasy, superheroes, stories focused on marginalized communities and other genres widely-beloved by an increasingly diverse global audience but ignored by The Academy....

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s incredible mid-season finale was a reactionary bundle of action, plot crescendos and the kind of shock twists fans have come to expect from the show’s enterprising writers. The team responded to the episode’s multi pronged Hydra threat with a satisfying display of dexterity, utilizing Daisy’s (Chloe Bennett) new Secret Warriors team and the unique skills of each human and Inhuman agent - as the characters took an opportunity for retribution for the professional and personal assaults brought within season 3’s first half....

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Deserves A Sixth Season It’s true that S.H.I.E.L.D.’s ratings this season haven’t been great. In truth, that may have little to do with the show’s quality. ABC scheduled Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5 in what many regard as a “graveyard slot,” Friday at 9pm. ABC claimed they were aiming to turn this slot into “a destination for our fantasy and science fiction fans,” but it doesn’t seem to have worked....

A trailer for Agents of SHIELD season 6, episode 8 shows the Shrike invasion of Earth finally underway. Agents of SHIELD’s sixth season has seen the team fighting on two very different fronts. In the far reaches of space, Fitz and Simmons have finally reunited, and after evading death on several occasions, have now secured passage home. Back on Earth, SHIELD has been rebuilt under the leadership of Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie, but is immediately forced to contend with the arrival of Sarge, an inter-dimensional soldier who looks exactly like former boss, Phil Coulson, who tragically died in the period between seasons 5 and 6....

ABC has yet to reveal Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s fate, giving it an uncertain status heading into the season five finale. While S.H.I.E.L.D. started hot from a ratings perspective as it rode the heels of The Avengers, it didn’t take long for the true audience to settle in. The ratings were on a gradual decline, but have largely evened out over the last two seasons. But, those numbers are far from the powerhouse ABC expected, and we only got a fifth season thanks to Disney stepping in and forcing their hand....

Science fiction shows are notorious when it comes to surprising viewers with major plot twists. It makes sense. These are programmes in which literally anything can happen, by virtue of their – often literally – out of this world premises. Syfy shows are no exception. They actually have more ground to work with since their shows are so broad in the universes that they explore. Whereas a good twist can leave fans craving more, a stinker has the potential to bring a show to its knees with a thud....

Mockumentaries have quite a responsibility towards their audience. For one, there has to be a distinct similarity to the genre they’re mocking, and any shortcomings in this regard typically leave the joke with much to be desired. As such, mockumentary features must be both master imitator and assimilator, knowing when to play it straight and when to break the mold to make a statement. Which brings about trait number two: they’ve got to be funny....

Star Wars is a franchise that has never been lacking in grand spectacle, and this list will be commemorating the best of the best when it comes to the epic battle department. Star Wars is filled with grandiose battles that turn the tides of war for either side, that captivate our imaginations, and make us ponder the importance of war in the first place. After all, “Wars” is quite literally in the title of the franchise....

It’s extremely difficult to make a good sequel. It’s even more difficult to make a good prequel. More often than not, prequels are a sign of creative desperation. They often come about when producers or studios want to keep a hot franchise chugging along but have run out of fresh ideas. To compensate, they opt to go back and tell viewers what happened before the story they initially fell in love with....

DC and Marvel, the “Big Two” of comic book publishing, are bitter rivals – or are they? Certainly, that’s what their respective fan bases would have you believe. Take a closer look at the behavior of both publishers, and it becomes clear that the competition between them is more friendly than acrimonious. Need proof?
