J’onn J’onzz, commonly known by his more menacing name, Martian Manhunter, has been a figure in the DC universe as far back as the 1950s. He made his first appearance in Detective Comics #225 and since then has fought alongside other famous DC powerhouses such as Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Still, despite his longevity, Martian Manhunter is relatively unknown to those unfamiliar with the DC Universe. Last year, the CBS (soon to be CW) series Supergirl delighted fans of Martian Manhunter by bringing him to live-action television....

Employee badges at Chicago’s Fulton Market District neighborhood 167 Green Street are now Apple Wallet compatible. Instead of having a physical badge, employees only need their iPhone or Apple Watch to access their destination. Sharry, a European PropTech company, and HID Global are responsible for the creation of this integration. The entire building is Apple Wallet compatible, allowing employees to unlock key card-protected spaces with their device. According to the press release, if the employee’s iPhone needs charged, they can still access the building for the next five hours with Power Reserve....

Last year, the U.S. box office reached unprecedented heights, as 2015 saw a record $11.12 billion worth of domestic ticket sales. This feat, of course, was in no small part due to the long awaited continuation of the Luke Skywalker saga in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which grossed a stunning $652 million in 2015 (its final gross was a record $936 million). But 2016 has seen its share of massive hits as well, many of which are Disney films....

While the idea of “romance” wasn’t explored with very much depth in the early days of the original Star Trek TV series– it was mostly Captain Kirk having a different flirtation in every episode with a female character who only seemed to exist for that purpose– genuine romances eventually became an important aspect of the sci-fi franchise that boldly went where no one had gone before. There are romances, whether officially announced or largely unrequited, that became among the most iconic things about the various Star Trek movies and shows....

It is no secret to long-time fans of professional wrestling that companies like WCW and the WWE had periods where they created some very strange, and often cartoonish characters for their superstars to portray. When looking back at gimmicks that lay in the wastelands of the WWE Network, there are garbagemen, giant chickens, Yetis, repo men, evil clowns, Vikings and Shockmasters. While these gimmicks could easily kill a man’s career, there were some wrestlers who worked through the gimmicks and ended up as WWE Superstars....

It seems as if every decade there’s at least one film that completely revolutionizes the horror genre. These films then begin a chain reaction that influences a bunch of similar format movies for many years to come. We saw it first perhaps with Jaws in the 1970s, which prompted a number of shark-related movies to come out. The slasher genre was the ‘It’ thing in the 1980s with Halloween, Nightmare On Elm Street and Friday the 13th furthering this popularity....

The Winter Soldier’s popularity proves any comics character can become a star if they’re written right. Bucky Barnes debuted at the end of 1940 (cover-dated 1941) as Captain America’s sidekick. He never had a solo series. When Marvel revived Captain America in Avengers #4, they made it clear Bucky was not coming back, ever — he was pushing up daisies, he’d joined the choir invisible, he was an ex-living person. None of that screams “superstar potential....

Grey’s Anatomy is one of the greatest success stories in modern television. Conceived by the show’s creator, Shonda Rhimes, as a feminist series with a diverse cast, Grey’s was originally a mid-season replacement for the mostly forgotten comedy-drama Boston Legal. Some were memorable for all the wrong reasons, while others were barely a blip on the radar. However, with so many people walking in and out of the hospital over the years and impacting the lives of the main characters, some were bound to leave a negative impression that the series would have been better off without them....

The movie industry has entered a stage where sequels and franchises are now part of the norm. It’s practically irresponsible if future movies and sequel packages aren’t something that are put into consideration when a new project is pitched to prospective studios.
