Abrams returning to produce this new Cloverfield movie, plus first-time director Dan Trachtenberg attached, the new feature film has already seen the release of several subsequent TV spots, all of which have only served to heighten the mystery and suspense surrounding this latest Abrams production....

Lucasfilm has always pushed the boundaries of special effects through the Star Wars franchise. The original film is a technical marvel, putting an entire universe on display with costumes, puppets, miniatures, and good old-fashioned craftsmanship. Of course, all of these practical effects are enhanced with computer-generated imagery, which was fairly primitive and rudimentary at the time. Even so, the mix of practical and digital effects has made the original Star Wars trilogy look fantastic and it still holds up today....

Being a fan of the CW’s Arrowverse means making some concessions with your disbelief. That doesn’t just apply to spending four hours a week accepting the existence of superpowered people, aliens, time travel, and that a person would have enough time to be both a masked vigilante and the mayor of a major city. If you can blind your brain to that stuff, though, they’re a pretty good time. However, just letting things like this slide isn’t enough for some fans of Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl– and they’ve found some issues....

For actors, playing different characters is par for the course. It’s in the job description. Most of the time, audiences don’t give it a second thought. Ben Affleck can be both Daredevil and Batman. Of course, it can get a little out of hand at times - we get it, Tim Burton. You love Johnny Depp. Then again, if an actor works, why not keep them around? Marvel studios loves to re-use actors....
