Though the other networks have already shared theirs, ABC has at last finalized its fall 2018 TV schedule, complete with premiere dates for the Roseanne Barr-less spinoff The Conners, as well as Nathan Fillion’s return to TV with The Rookie. The new schedule also brings the series premiere of Alec Baldwin’s talk show, the single camera comedy Single Parents, and the relationship drama A Million Little Pieces. The big news from ABC’s fall schedule is, of course, the October start date for The Conners....

Superhero movies are immensely popular and have been dominating the box office for a longtime. While DC is attempting to keep up, Marvel has seen the most success in the genre in recent years. Many of their movies launch actors to stardom or resurrect careers. With all of the success that Marvel has seen, it’s easy to forget that some of their characters in movies haven’t been all that great. Some films have been better than others....

Warning: SPOILERS Below for Avengers: Infinity War! - After Avengers: Infinity War, the Avengers’ biggest problem is still Thanos, but there’s an old issue hanging over them: their violation of the Sokovia Accords. The legislation requiring all ’enhanced’ individuals and operatives of the Avengers to comply with UN oversight was introduced in Captain America: Civil War. It was the story point that divided Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and ultimately forced Captain America, Black Widow, the Falcon, and Scarlet Witch on the run for two years as wanted fugitives....

After a few months of no new content coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, things are picking up again. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has started season four on ABC, and Netflix has debuted the first season of Luke Cage. Both properties come before the release of Doctor Strange in theaters, which will open up the mystical side of the universe. Once Strange is introduced into the MCU, there will be an increased presence and knowledge of magic....

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5 has been a fascinating sci-fi action adventure, and has seen the S.H.I.E.L.D. team wrestle with the concept of time-travel in a way that’s never really been seen before in a superhero TV show. The gang are desperately attempting to avert a catastrophic future, one in which the Earth was cracked like an eggshell - apparently by one of their own. But their every attempt seems to be failing....

There’s nothing quite like cringe comedy. Cringe comedy is amazing because we get to watch painfully awkward situations unfold from a safe distance. One of the reasons this genre is so funny is because of how relatable it is. We could all pinpoint situations in our lives that have reached the level of awkwardness depicted on these TV shows, yet luckily don’t have to engage in these impossibly cringe-worthy interactions....

Throughout its seven season run, Sons of Anarchy captured the hearts of millions of fans worldwide on its route to becoming a revered fandom. While adored by fans, this show also received much praise from critics. SOA received a whole host of award nominations, which culminated in Katey Sagal winning a Golden Globe for her performance as Gemma Teller. While the series did well to captivate viewers as a whole, there were some exceptional episodes that stood out from the pack, and defined the story of SAMCRO....

Is there such a thing as too many Marvel movies? Well, the answer to that is probably, “yes”. But a better way to phrase that question is, “is there such a thing as too many GOOD Marvel movies?”… and a big part of what makes a Marvel movie good has to do with Kevin Feige and the Marvel Cinematic Universe team picking the right superheroes to make movies about. Dedicated Marvel fans know that there are a lot of heroes that haven’t had films dedicated to them....

With Daredevil: Season 2 having just premiered on Netflix, bringing exciting new characters and storylines, it is the perfect time to revisit what made the show so successful in its opening season. As the saying goes, sometimes we must go back before we can go forward. Daredevil: Season 1 debuted on April 10th, 2015 to rave critical reviews and overwhelmingly positive fan support. It became readily apparent that Drew Goddard had developed a hit, and one that appealed to a broad audience....

Marvel’s flagship hero Spider-Man is finally joining the Avengers on the big screen, and hopefully, the character will make a grand re-entrance after a couple disappointing entries starring Andrew Garfield. Played by Tom Holland in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker is easily one of the most recognizable comic heroes of all time, a layered and complex character with a rich history, not all of which is well known to general audiences....

Cyberpunk is science fiction, often set in a dystopian future, in which society is dominated, for better or worse, by computers and the internet. Rather than direct government overlords, society-at-large is usually controlled by mega-corporations who skew the balance of power away from the poor and needy, fueling tensions and inspiring revolution. The people are represented by radical groups using their soldiers – or hackers – to shock the system. The internet is used as a great equalizer, a weapon of the oppressed to even the playing field against their tormentors....

Guy Ritchie’s Snatch was released in 2000 and remains a much-loved crime-comedy even after all these years. Ritchie had already found success with his first movie, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, but this is the one that made Hollywood really take notice. The movie interweaves various stories about various nefarious characters operating in London’s criminal underworld. There are the struggling box promoters, the ruthless gangster, the deadly Russian, and one very hungry dog....

Kara Zor-El soars back onto our screens next month as Supergirl joins the CW Arrow-verse for its second season. Starring Melissa Benoist as Kara, the show brings together some old faces from the DC Universe and a few new characters created specifically for the show, and it’s gaining Superman’s cousin a whole new fanbase. Despite Supergirl’s long history in comics (she’s been around since the ’50s), this is her first real solo adventure in live-action (not counting the travesty of a movie from 1984!...

The world of illegal street racing continues to find a place in today’s pop culture. Whether on TV or in big-screen depictions, the world is becoming more aware of the dangerous lifestyles of these drag racers. In an effort to expand its presence even more (and cash in on its popularity), the Discovery Channel launched the Street Outlaws series in 2013. Following the lives and careers of local talent Oklahoma City and its surrounding areas, the series became helped to launch the careers of many racers, old and new....

In strategic terms, 2019 is Disney’s riskiest year in a long time. The House of Mouse closed 2018 to record-breaking results, thanks largely to theme park traffic and strong box office performance. It wasn’t a perfect year, of course; A Wrinkle In Time and Solo: A Star Wars Story were high-profile flops, due to a combination of strategic errors and bad marketing. For all that’s the case, though, Disney still took in over $7....

Game of Thrones and romance aren’t exactly synonymous. Mostly because anyone who’s found a measure of happiness on the show usually meets some kind of horrible fate. Ned and Catelyn, Tyrion and Shae, Jon and Ygritte – all ripped from us by HBO and George R.R. Martin. Watching the show is emotional enough without getting attached to a couple only to watch them lose their joy in the worst possible way....

Superheroes serve as one of the great beacons of hope and optimism in popular culture. As heroes, they save the day, and save the world from itself in the process. Such stories are undeniably hopeful, idealistic, and, in their own way, romantic. So it’s not really a surprise that superhero stories often contain love stories of all kinds embedded within them. In the case of superhero TV shows, these love stories happen far more frequently than in most other media, likely owing to the fact of the need for plot twists and the length of serialized television seasons....

Though it was originally announced in 2014, the Netflix adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events has been slow to develop. After a lot of rumors and a viral fan-made trailer, casting finally began last year and filming recently got underway. Now it seems that we’ve gotten our first look at series star Neil Patrick Harris, in character as the villainous Count Olaf. Pictures from the Series of Unfortunate Events set revealed Harris as Olaf goes to set one of his schemes in motion....
