Conrad Vernon is set to direct MGM’s animated feature version of The Addams Family. The Addams Family began as a popular comic strip that was featured in the New Yorker and illustrated by cartoonist Charles Addams. Their success led to The Addams Family television show that ran between 1964 and 1966 and an animated series in the early 1970s. The series also experienced a revival with a few movies in the 1990s that starred Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia and Christina Ricci - plus The Addams Family broadway musical debuted in 2009....

Everyone has their regrets in life from time to time, but only a very select few could ever rank appearing in a Star Wars movie among them. The trailer for James Gray’s Ad Astra has arrived online. Directed by Gray from a script he cowrote with Ethan Gross (Fringe), the film follows an astronaut (Brad Pitt) who travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father (Tommy Lee Jones). The movie was shot back in mid-late 2017 and was initially scheduled to arrive near the start of this year. However, it was later pushed back to May and then again to September, in the wake of Disney’s purchase of Fox’s movie and TV assets....

Being a graphic medium, comic books ultimately live and die by their cover. It’s a visual mission statement – an image meant to grab the reader’s attention. It provides an expectation of what’s inside, while also establishing an aesthetic appropriate for the time period in which it was created. But the best comic book covers are more than a mere mini-billboard meant to sell a product. They’re an artistic statement unto themselves, with some of the best pushing the boundaries of graphic design, controversial subject matter, cultural significance or starting a stylistic trend (for better or worse)....
