See the first footage from the final four episodes of Agents of SHIELD season 6 with a new trailer. Agents of SHIELD is currently nearing the end of its sixth season, which has been a wild one, to say the least. The bulk of the story has been divided into two narratives, one in space focused on the search for Fitz and the other on Earth with a Coulson lookalike named Sarge causing problems. These storylines finally collided at the end of the ninth episode, with teases of skin-swapping aliens and Melinda May shooting a familiar face.

The minds of most viewers have since been on what could happen in the remaining episodes of this season, as well as the already announced seventh season. But, it was recently revealed that season 7 will be bittersweet, as it will mark the final season for Agents of SHIELD. The end of the series is news fans have been bracing to hear for years and it appears the decision was made by the creators, meaning this will be a planned ending in 2020.

This news will only make what comes next on Agents of SHIELD all the more anticipated and conversely increased interest in what the show’s first Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con could reveal. The entire cast and crew were on hand for the SDCC 2019 panel, and after the news of the series ending next season, they made sure to bring some better news with them. Marvel delivered a trailer for the final four episodes of Agents of SHIELD season 6, offering fans the first look at how this season will end.

The trailer shows quite a lot of what will come in the final four episodes of this season of Agents of SHIELD, but the biggest takeaway is the further exploration of who Sarge is and what he can do. First of all, May shooting him did not kill him and instead may make him stronger. He is shown having super strength as he dents a table and punches out an entire section of a wall just with his fists. There are also moments where particles of his skin float around his body, which has yet to be seen.

There’s also a clear delineation between Gregg’s two characters. Sarge’s memories are linked to Izel and a ritual she is doing and not tied to anything Coulson has done. Whatever past Izel and Sarge have, this trailer frames their conflict and history as the main story drive for the final four episodes. It isn’t terribly surprising based on how this season has been building, but fans can now rest assured that a new threat isn’t going to swoop in at the last second. With the SHIELD team wrapped up in what is to come, the return of the monoliths, and the Izel/Sarge conflict, Agents of SHIELD season 6 should go out with some jam-packed final episodes.
