New York Comic-Con 2016 is in full swing this week, and it shouldn’t come as any surprise that Marvel has a presence at the event. While the upcoming films of Phase 3 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are sitting this convention out (following another Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con), the TV side of the franchise is represented by Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Now in its fourth season, the show’s cast and crew are at NYCC to promote the latest developments, teasing viewers with the promise of “strange things” and the possibility of a Netflix crossover.

For fans, Comic-Cons are always very exciting, but attending can be a thrill for the actors involved in these projects as well. It’s clear that many of the thespians enjoy being part of something so monumental and look for ways to get in on all the action themselves. It’s fairly common for stars to go undercover in their own cosplay to take in the sights and sounds of the show floor, and that’s exactly what a trio from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. did. You can watch the video of their exploits above.

In it, Clark Gregg, Chloe Bennett, and newcomer Gabriel Luna dress up as Marvel characters and conduct interviews with Marvel fans. Gregg goes as Ghost Rider, Bennett is Rocket Raccoon, and Luna dons a Star-Lord costume. During their adventures on the floor, the three ask viewers about their favorite Marvel TV shows. Some of them watch Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., while others prefer the Netflix series like Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Gregg, always one with a sense of humor, admits that even he cannot disagree with the notion of Daredevil being someone’s favorite.

The real highlights of the video are the interactions the cast have with the attendees, since they create amusing situations for the viewer to watch. For instance, a Captain America cosplayer recalls a time he met Gregg, and someone dressed as Spider-Man says that after the first season of S.H.I.E.L.D., he decided it wasn’t for him and stopped watching. Of course, the coolest moments come when Gregg, Bennett, and Luna pull back their masks and reveal themselves to the fans, which lead to reactions of shock and surprise. Fans dream of meeting their favorite stars all the time, so one can only imagine how unforgettable this had to be for the attendees interviewed by “Tony” from Marvel TV.

Studios like Marvel are well aware that they wouldn’t be where they are today without the unwavering support of the fans. The reason they get to develop an entire TV slate or take in billions of box office dollars is because the viewers show up time and time again to see the latest happenings in the MCU. It’s nice to see the people who make Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. do something special for the Marvel fans, showing their appreciation for what they do. Most likely, this will only strengthen the bond and ensure the property stays alive and well for many more years.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continues with ‘Uprising’ Tuesday, October 11 at 10pm on ABC.
