Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Ming-Na Wen hypes tonight’s big fight, with a tweet that jokingly suggests a throw-down between her character and another on the superhero show. The fight, between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor is a hugely anticipated boxing match in Vegas, which pits undefeated 11-time five-division professional boxing world champion Mayweather against two-division mixed martial arts world champion and current UFC Lightweight Champion McGregor. In other words, it’s not just a match between two champions, but between two vastly different kinds of fighters.

Obviously, the sports world has been talking about this fight for months, and now the world of movie and TV entertainment is also getting in on the action. The upcoming sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle tweeted about the match with two new videos of their own fight scenes, and now one of the actresses from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has added her own take on the big match.

Ming-Na Wen, who plays badass-in-black Agent Melinda May in the series, tweeted a photo of herself and co-star Henry Simmons, who plays Al ‘Mack’ MacKenzie on the show. The image is created to look like a boxing promo photo with the words ‘May vs Mack’ over the top, and is captioned: “Who’s ready for the BIG FIGHT tonight?!!! Let’s rumble!! #mayvsmack  ….what? It’s #mayvsmac? Never mind….#AgentsofShield.”

The tweet is a joking reference to the names of both her and Simmons’ characters - May and Mack - which sound very much like the names of the fighters (although the spelling is very different). Of course, in the series, May and Mack are both Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and therefore on the same side, so they’re a little less likely to throw down. Then again, it’s a show with plenty of twists, turns, and double agents, so it’s certainly not impossible.

Still, this should be taken as a lighthearted tweet to hype the fight and have a little fun with the fighters’ names, rather than any real hint at scenes to come within the show itself. Wen is very active on social media, and enjoys having fun with her fans on Twitter and cracking jokes, and just in case it wasn’t abundantly clear that this is meant all in good fun, she includes a few laughing emojis to be sure. Sounds like she’ll be watching the fight tonight, in any case, and may well even be tweeting about it!
