Although Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has steadily won back fans since the show’s season 1 turn in the wake of its Captain America: The Winter Soldier tie-in episode, excitement for season 4 seems to be at an all-time high thanks in part to Marvel Comics character Ghost Rider joining the series. The arrival of Robbie Reyes a.k.a. Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna) was announced during the show’s panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego this summer, and much of the promotional lead up to season 4 has focused on the new anti-hero.

In addition to Ghost Rider, though, season 4 will be picking up the loose threads left by the season 3 finale - specifically, the fact that Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) has gone rogue from S.H.I.E.L.D. Last viewers saw of Daisy, she had gone full-on vigilante hero, with newspaper headlines dubbing her Quake (finally bringing her comic book name into the series). But, when season 4 kicks off, Daisy will come face to face with Ghost Rider.

A new promo for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. released on Twitter [above] focuses on Daisy suiting up as Quake - including her gauntlets that are an iconic part of the character’s comic design and help Daisy deal with her Inhuman powers within the continuity of the series. The video was paired with a teaser stating, “She’s ready to take on vengeance,” which seems to indicate she’ll be facing Ghost Rider.

Of course, set videos from filming on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4 have already previewed a run in between Quake and Ghost Rider in which she winds up clinging to the roof of his car while driving down the streets of Los Angeles. Additionally, a recently released clip from the premiere established that Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his partner in the field, Mack (Henry Simmons), will be traveling to L.A. on strange reports of burn victims - though they think it may be Quake, fans will likely recognize the work of Ghost Rider right away.

Aside from the promo teasing Quake meeting Ghost Rider early in season 4, the short video also seems to feature Daisy in her standard S.H.I.E.L.D. getup but with a hint of her rogue style as well - likely indicating she’ll return to the S.H.I.E.L.D. fold early on in season 4, though she’ll certainly still be struggling with her grief over Lincoln (Luke Mitchell). Daisy returning to S.H.I.E.L.D. seems to be further confirmed by the season 4 cast photo, in which she’s shown among her fellow agents in her typical Inhuman suit.

That said, it remains to be seen how Daisy’s character development will continue into season 4. Previous seasons had her coming to terms with her Inhuman heritage and powers, but the introduction of Ghost Rider - whose powers cannot be explained through science or Inhuman abilities - will add a new dimension to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Thankfully, there are only a few days left before Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4 debuts and fans can get their first look at Ghost Rider meeting Quake.
