A Series of Unfortunate Events might be a tale of woe and despair, but at least it has a fantastic cast! Season 2 sees the Baudelaire children - Violet, Klaus and Sunny - thrown into more perilous circumstances with less-than-ideal guardians, while the menacing Count Olaf continues his efforts to steal their fortune. With so many characters (and so many disguises) it can be difficult to keep track of who’s-who, so here’s a handy guide to the cast of A Series of Unfortunate Events season 2.
Orphans
Malina Weissman as Violet Baudelaire - The eldest of the Baudelaire children, Violet is an inventor who always comes up with her best ideas when her hair is tied up with a ribbon.
Louis Hynes as Klaus Baudelaire - The middle Baudelaire child, Klaus loves reading books and has a knack for memorizing facts.
Presley Smith as Sunny Baudelaire - The youngest of the Baudelaire children, Sunny’s hobbies include biting things and, well, biting things. She’s very good at it.
Dylan Kingwell as Duncan Quagmire - One of the two surviving Quagmire triplets, Dylan is heir to the enormously valuable Quagmire sapphires, and is a keen journalist.
Avi Lake as Isadora Quagmire - The other surviving Quagmire triplet, Isadora is also heir to the family fortune, and enjoys writing poetry.
Count Olaf’s Troupe
Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf - Recognizable (well, sometimes) by his single eyebrow and the tattoo of an eye on his ankle. A very bad man.
Usman Ally as the Hook-Handed Man - Count Olaf’s right-hand man (pardon the phrasing). He has hooks instead of hands, but they’re surprisingly versatile.
Jacqueline and Joyce Robbins as the White-Faced Women - Identical twins who often finish each other’s sentences.
John DeSantis as the Bald Man - A tall, bald man with a very deep voice.
Matty Cardarople as the Henchperson of Indeterminate Gender - A henchperson of indeterminate gender.
Guardians
K. Todd Freeman as Mr. Poe - Mr. Poe is Vice-President of Orphan Affairs at Mulctuary Money Management. He is not great at his job.
Roger Bart as Vice-Principal Nero - The mean-spirited and egotistical man in charge of Prufrock Preparatory school. Nero loves playing the violin, though he is terrible at it, and has a nasty habit of repeating people’s words in a mocking tone.
Lucy Punch as Esmé Squalor - The city’s sixth most important financial advisor. Esmé is a wealthy and painfully fashionable woman who lives her life according to what The Daily Punctilio tells her is “in” and “out.”
Tony Hale as Jerome Squalor - The kind but timid husband of Esmé Squalor, Jerome enjoys aqueous martinis and taking long naps.
Ithamar Enriquez as Hector - A friendly handyman who lives in V.F.D. (the Village of Fowl Devotees), and is terrified of the Village Elders.
V.F.D.
Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket - A writer plagued by the loss of a great love, Lemony is also saddled with the unenviable task of recounting the tale of the Baudelaire children (while on the lam).
Nathan Fillion as Jacques Snicket - Lemony’s brother. Jacques is an extremely dashing man and a very responsible taxi driver.
Sara Canning as Jacquelyn - Mr. Poe’s secretary, who uses her job to keep tabs on the Baudelaires, and has a habit of hiding under her desk whenever she gets an important phone call.
Patrick Breen as Larry Your-Waiter - Whether he’s working in a clown-themed seaside establishment, a fancy restaurant with all-salmon dishes, or a school cafeteria, Larry is always here to help.
Other Cast Members (in order of appearance)
Kitana Turnbull as Carmelita Spats - An adorable-looking school bully who enjoys singing, tap-dancing and calling people “cake-sniffers.”
Sara Rue as Olivia Caliban - Prufrock Preparatory School’s good-hearted librarian is frustrated by the fact that she’s only allowed to keep her library open for 10 minutes each day.
Bronwen Smith as Miss Tench - Prufrock Preparatory’s gym teacher.
Malcolm Stewart as Mr. Remora - Teaches a class in personal anecdotes at Prufrock Preparatory.
BJ Harrison as Mrs. Bass - Teaches a class in measuring various objects at Prufrock Preparatory.
Cleo King as Eleanora Poe - Reporter for The Daily Punctilio, and Mr. Poe’s wife.
Mindy Sterling as Elder Anabelle - A village elder in V.F.D.
Carol Mansell as Elder Jemma - Another village elder in V.F.D.
Ken Jenkins as Elder Sam - Another village elder in V.F.D.
John Bobek as Bearded Man - The cheerful leader of Volunteers Fighting Disease.
Kerri Kenney as Babs - Heimlich Hospital’s head of Human Resources and Hospital Administration. Also head of the Party-Planning Committee.
David Alan Grier as Hal - The friendly, near-sighted record-keeper at Heimlich Hospital’s Library of Records.
Robbie Amell as Kevin - One of Caligari Carnival’s resident freaks. He is ambidextrous.
Kevin Cahoon as Hugo - One of Caligari Carnival’s resident freaks. He has a spinal abnormality.
Bonnie Morgan Colette - One of the Caligari Carnival’s resident freaks. She is a contortionist.
Allison Williams as ???????? - Sorry, we don’t want to spoil it for you!
