Now, some people have had it up to here with the remakes, and we totally see where they’re coming from. But, as long as this remake trend is going on, we may as well enjoy it, right? Let’s check out these ten reboots coming out in 2019 that we all have to look forward to. Prepare to be stoked!

10. The Addams Family

The Addams Family is back, and they’re, uh…well, we were going to say, “better than ever”, but that’s not strictly true because, come on, The Addams Family has always been amazing! Who doesn’t love Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday and Pugsley? Their negativity, cynicism and, most importantly, undying affection for one another, is the ultimate in #FamilyGoals.

We’re so excited the franchise is getting rebooted because this generation is in desperate need of some quality The Addams Family content, and the latest installment in the series, an animated film that hits theaters on October 18, 2019, is sure to satisfy. Catch up with this delightfully morbid family in the latest flick, starring Oscar Isaacs (Star Wars), Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road), and Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things).

9. The Lion King

Disney’s really pulling out all the stops in 2019 in terms of live-action remakes. There are so many! And, as hardcore Disney fans, we’re duty-bound to see each of them, not just once, but numerous times. If we spend any time outside of a movie theater in 2019, we’ll be surprised.

We know, we know, it almost seems blasphemous to see a new version of this 90’s animated classic, but the new The Lion King promises to deliver on all scores. From the stunning CGI effects to the stellar lineup of stars—Donald Glover (Community), Seth Rogen (The Disaster Artist), and Beyoncé, just to name a few—we are so going to be there when it hits theaters on July 19.

8. Shaft

Samuel L. Jackson’s screen presence is second to none. If somebody made a movie of him, like, waiting in a doctor’s office for two and a half hours, or something similarly boring, we’d still pay to see it. He’s just that good.

That’s why The Avengers star was such a great choice for this reboot. In Shaft, which hits theaters June 14, Samuel L. Jackson stars as the son of Shaft, AKA John Shaft II, a cybersecurity expert who teams up with his father in order to uncover the secrets behind his BFF’s death. Full of action and adventure (we’d’ve been happy with one or the other, but to have both is just unheard of), this one’s guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat.

7. Pet Sematary

The original Pet Sematary movie, based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name, came out in 1989, and it was scary then. We can’t imagine how upsetting it’ll be in the reboot, what with all the fancy pants special effects and what not. We can’t wait to cry for our moms in fear.

Pet Sematary follows the story of the Creed family, who move from the big city to a house in the country. They soon learn that the nearby pet cemetery was built on an ancient burial ground. Things get hinky when the Creeds bury their family cat in the cemetery, and it comes back to life. That, uh…yeah, that’s a little odd. Coming out April 5, don’t miss this Stephen King classic.

6. Aladdin

It’s 2019, people. So why in the heck do we still not have flying carpets, huh? Sigh. Oh, well, it looks like we’ll just have to satisfy ourselves with the live-action Aladdin remake. But, hey, know what? That sounds like a fair trade-off to us!

Disney’s Aladdin reboot hits theaters May 24, and we can tell it’s totally going to be amazeballs based off the still above. Heck, this remake will be worth watching just to see Will Smith as Genie. Also starring Mena Massoud (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan) as Aladdin, Naomi Scott (Power Rangers) as Jasmine and Marwan Kenzari (Murder on the Orient Express) as Jafar, start clearing your schedule now, people, ‘cause you’re not going to want to miss Aladdin!

5. Grudge

You know what? The last three films in The Grudge series really haven’t left us as mentally scarred as we would’ve liked. We’re still too sane, we think we’re going to need another one of these puppies to really leave us unhinged. And it looks like 2019 is going to grant us that wish on June 21.

In Grudge, a house is haunted by an evil spirit that curses those who enter the home and kills them off one by one. It’s not pretty. You’ll probably cry. You might even wet your pants, it’s hard to say. But, if you’re like us and you enjoy a good scare, then don’t miss this latest installment in the popular horror film franchise.

4. Men In Black: International

When you think about all of the beloved movies that filmmakers could choose to reboot, Men in Black is really a no-brainer. Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith totally made those films, but we’re happy to see the franchise making a comeback with talented actors Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Tessa Thompson (Westworld).

In this reboot, which will be in theaters on June 24, Agent H and Agent M turn in their alien hunting gear in order to open a chain of clothing retail outlets, and…no, wait, wrong H and M. Instead of launching their own clothing store, the two agents team up with their super cool, alien-fighting tech to take down space creatures bent on wreaking havoc here on earth.

3. Dumbo

Putting Disney’s live-action Dumbo remake in the hands of director Tim Burton? We don’t know who okayed that decision, but we’d like to shake hands with them. From The Nightmare Before Christmas to Alice in Wonderland, Tim Burton has proven time and time again that he’s a wizard when it comes to storytelling. Maybe it’s corny, but the man’s films are magical.

And magic is exactly what a story like Dumbo needs to shine. The cast for this remake (mark your calendars, folks, it hits theaters March 29) is star-studded. With Colin Farrell (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), Danny DeVito (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Michael Keaton (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Disney’s Dumbo is sure to be a hit!

2. Child’s Play

Oh, Chucky, you little scamp of a demon doll! This franchise first launched in 1988, and currently has seven movies under its belt (eight, if you count this latest installment). Each film focuses on a disconcerting looking red-headed doll with the soul of a serial killer inside of it, courtesy of a voodoo ritual.

In Child’s Play, set to premiere on June 21, Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation) plays Karen Barclay, a mother who gives her son, Andy (Gabriel Bateman), a doll for his birthday. What kind of doll, you ask? It could be a Barbie, or a nice American Girl Doll, right? But, it’s not. It’s Chucky—but you probably already guessed that much.

1. Pokémon Detective Pikachu

Hey, remember how everyone begged filmmakers to make a movie about a crime-solving Pokémon not too long ago? Yeah, neither do we, but Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, a reboot of the Pokémon franchise, still sounds like it’ll be a good time. Ryan Reynolds voices the title detective, after all, and who doesn’t love Deadpool?

The film follows 21-year-old Tim Goodman (Justice Smith), whose father, Harry (Paul Kitson), goes missing. In order to track him down again, Tim must team up with Harry’s former partner, Detective Pikachu, in order to piece together the clues that Harry left behind. Also starring Bill Nighy (Harry Potter), Kathryn Newman (Supernatural) and Ken Watanbe (Godzilla), Pokémon: Detective Pikachu hits theaters May 10.
