There’s almost too many new Netflix shows coming out to keep track of. No other streaming service is quite as popular or creates quite as much highly-anticipated content.

Many of their original shows and films have launched actors to stardom. Their ever expanding library is giving more and more actors their chance at fame, or give established actors new and exciting roles to play. The casts of these shows all seem like they get along so well, but it’s not always what it seems.

Just because two characters are buddy-buddy on screen, though, doesn’t mean they are best friends in reality. The camera and a decent script can easily fake a close relationship that isn’t there, while other stars may be enemies on screen but thick as thieves behind the scenes.

Are you wondering if the cast of your favorite Netflix series is close when the cameras aren’t rolling?

Here are the 10 Netflix Stars Who Are Best Friends IRL (And 5 Who Are Frenemies).

Friends: Joe Keery and Gaten Matarazzo - Stranger Things

One of the best parts of season two of Stranger Things is the unlikely friendship that develops between Dustin and Steve.

The relationship between the characters was natural and hilarious to the point that fans wondered if the two were just as close in real life. Dustin and Steve share girl advice as well as hair care tips.

As suspected, actors Joe Keery and Gaten Matarazzo  genuinely are friends behind the scenes. They post about each other on social media, eat out at restaurants together, and both enjoy eating the same cereal.

The actors even do their hair in the same style sometimes.

Keery and Matrazzo as well as their characters are total friendship goals and are one of the best Netflix duo out there.

Friends: Diane Guerrero and Jackie Cruz - OITNB

The Cast of Orange Is The New Black hang out outside of the show all the time. They all seem to get along well, but two women stand out in particular.

Diana Guerrero and Jackie Cruz are just as close in real life as they are as their characters Flaca and Maritza.

Much like their fictional counterparts, they spend a lot of time together.

You can scroll through either woman’s Instagram for too long without seeing the other. They attend events together, take selfies on set, and have all kinds of fun.

Just like any other pair of friends, they facetime each other and make goofy videos together.

These two women have the bond that all girls want to have with their BFF. Their friendship is so pure and uplifting.

Frenemies: The Olsen Twins and Returning Cast - Fuller House

Fuller House has been a huge deal since it was announced. So many people grew up with the show and couldn’t wait to see the entire cast reunited.

However, not every cast member decided to return and it caused a bit of drama.

A lot of the returning cast seems to have a strong opinion about the Olsen twins, and they aren’t very positive feelings.

While some of the cast insists that there’s no bad blood, it certainly seems like other cast members have been disappointed in their decision not to return.

Dave Coulier referred to them having a “different perspective” than the rest of the returning cast.

It appears that the entire cast is a little bitter over them skipping the reunion, seeing as they made a slight dig at the twins in an episode of the show. They break the fourth wall to stare blankly at the camera after saying that Michelle is in New York running a fashion empire.

Friends: Tommy Dorfman and Alisha Boe - 13 Reasons Why

The characters on 13 Reasons Why may have to deal with a lot of drama, but the cast is really close in real life.

Despite the characters Ryan and Jessica being nowhere close to best friends on screen, actors Tommy Dorfman and Alisha Boe, who portray the pair, are super close in real life.

The two got together to have a spa night and it looked like so much fun. It was posted on Tommy’s story that night and everyone watching wanted to throw on a facemask and join them– a spa sleepover definitely solidifies the friendship.

The two also got matching tattoos with with Selena Gomez, the show’s executive producer, the same weekend. Everyone can only wish that their co-workers would turn into such great friends.

Friends: Winona Ryder and David Harbor - Stranger Things

The Stranger Things cast is full of amazing friendships, and Winona Ryder and David Harbour are no exception. Fans love the dynamic between Joyce and Hopper, but they’ll love their real life friendship even more.

Harbour has been a big fan of Ryder since the 1980s.

The two have only become closer on set each season, and fans can always find pictures of the two on Harbour’s social media. He has even described their relationship as “one of the most loving, inspiring working relationships I’ve ever had” on his Instagram.

Harbour actually admitted in an interview that he had a crush on the actress while he was in high school after seeing her in Heathers and Beetlejuice, and now he’s excited about being able to work right beside her.

Could Joyce and Hopper become a couple in season three?

Frenemies: Claire Foy and Producers - The Crown

The Netflix series The Crown has received a lot of attention, both good and bad. It received thirteen Emmy nominations and a few of the actors won Screen Guild Awards.

However, the show was also a part of a wage gap scandal.

Actress Claire Foy wasn’t paid as much as her male co-star Matt Smith, despite playing the main role of the queen. This caused a little bit of bad blood between the actress and the producers, especially when the news got to the public. It was a bit rocky there for a minute.

The dispute was resolved, however, and the producers apologized to both Foy and Smith for all of the media attention.

Despite rumors, Foy was never upset with Smith and he supported her through the whole thing.

Friends: Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber - Fuller House

The Fuller House cast have been all been friends for years. Many of the stars literally grew up together on the show, like Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber.

Much like their characters DJ and Kimmy, the pair are super close in real life.

The two have lunch dates, go for runs together, and spend time reminiscing over their Full House days.

They also spread their love for each other all over social media, like this sweet picture or this throwback Barber shared on her Instagram. Barber even visited Bure backstage when she was on Dancing With The Stars.

It’s amazing that they have stayed so close all these years. Their bond has been going strong since the 1990s and they are still total friendship goals.

Friends: Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin - Grace and Frankie

While the Netflix show Grace and Frankie may seem totally wacky and made up, the bond between the two women isn’t entirely untrue. Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin’s real-life friendship is what led to the creation of the show.

The actresses have been close friends for many years.

They have been buds since they both starred in the movie 9 to 5 alongside Dolly Parton in 1980. Their decade long friendship made signing on to do a Netflix show together was an easy choice for them to make.

Their friendship is so tight they even did a TED talk about it.

Fans can see plenty of this duo together on screen with four seasons of Grace and Frankie streaming on Netflix, and another season coming now that it has been renewed.

Frenemies: Danny Masterson and Ashton Kutcher - The Ranch

Netflix found itself at the center of another scandal after assault allegations came out against The Ranch star Danny Masterson. He was fired from the show after being accused.

His co-star Ashton Kutcher was originally conflicted about the allegations coming out against his friend. The two once starred together on the sitcom That 70’s Show, launching a friendship spanning years, but it seems like that friendship was shaken by the entire scandal.

He and Masterson went from friends to adversaries seeing as Kutcher agreed with his firing.

Kutcher did what he thought was best for everyone involved, seeing as he’s also an executive on the show, but it may have been at the cost of a pretty significant relationship.

The show will be continuing on with Kutcher, but without Masterson.

Friends: Charlie Heaton and Natalia Dyer - Stranger Things

There are so many adorable friendships on Stranger Things that it can be hard to keep track. Stars Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton, however, are a little more than friends.

They’ve actually been dating in real life for a while.

While Dyer’s character Nancy has eyes for Steve, the actress is more of a Jonathan girl. While there were some rumors swirling they had broken up, the pair were recently spotted together partying it up at Coachella.

Dyer has said that while it has it’s pros and cons, it’s “a lot fun” to work with her boyfriend on set. The two are fairly private but they’ve posted about each other on their social media a bit.

It seems like Stranger Things isn’t just good for bringing together lasting friendships, it has also helped form an adorable romance.

Friends: Danielle Brooks and Samira Wiley - OITNB

Fans of Orange is the New Black consider Poussey and Taystee to be ultimate friendship goals, and the actresses that play them are BFFs in real life.

Danielle Brooks and Samira Wiley are super close in real life.

They met at Julliard in 2007, and without Brooks, Wiley never would have auditioned for the show.

She’s the one who encouraged her to try out. They have been close since college. It makes sense why they such great chemistry on screen considering that they’ve been friends for years.

The pair finishes each other’s sentences and they are constantly having a good time together. They’ve had so many cute moments in real life, which can be seen on their Instagram accounts.

Hopefully they’ll work together in another show at some point now that Wiley is no longer on Orange is the New Black.

Frenemies: Kevin Spacey and The Rest Of The Cast - House of Cards

It’s no surprise that Kevin Spacey doesn’t get along with the cast of House of Cards. After countless assault allegations came out against the actor, people on the show were quick to admit that he was uncomfortable to be around.

Supposedly, he even harassed people on the crew. The creator of the show, Beau Willimon, has flipped flopped multiple times on whether or not he knew about this harassment or not.

It seems like there was a quite a lot of shady behavior on the set of the show while Spacey was on it.

It couldn’t have been a comfortable environment for the actors or crew to work in, as Spacey wasn’t exactly making any friends on set.

Thankfully, he was fired from the show and the final season will go on without him.

Friends: Aziz Ansari and Eric Wareheim - Master of None

Netflix’s shows Master of None has received a lot of positive attention from critics and fans alike. Aziz Ansari’s show is really successful, partially because he uses a lot of his own real life experiences on the show, including putting his own friends in the cast.

Eric Wareheim plays Dev’s best bud Arnold on the show. They go around trying food together, cracking jokes, and travel together in Italy.

In real life, the two actors spend a lot of time together as well. They even made a Kanye West parody video for fun, and only real BFFs would do that.

There are plenty of pics of the two having a good time on Ansari’s Instagram. Wareheim and Ansari really show that you can mix business and pleasure, and it works.

Friends: All The Kids - Stranger Things

Along with all of the other adorable friendship pairings on Stranger Things, all of the younger kids are best friends in real life. As if they weren’t adorable enough on screen, they are even cuter behind the scenes.

They are constantly sharing all of their fun together on social media, like when they were all incredibly bored at an awards show, like any regular kids would be.

Millie Bobby Brown called Noah Schnapp her “bestie” in this adorable picture. Finn Wolfhard and Gaten Matarazzo even dance together and admit they love each other.

They make working together on set look like so much fun.

Who wouldn’t want to work alongside their group of besties? There are only more cute pictures to come as fans wait for more episodes of Stranger Things.

Frenemies: The Olsen Twins and John Stamos - Fuller House

While the rest of the Fuller House cast has had their fair share of issues with the Olsen twins, actor John Stamos was definitely the most vocal about it.

He wasn’t afraid to share his feelings on their absence from the reboot of the show.

Apparently when the announcement of the creation of Fuller House first began, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen claimed they were not approached about the revival, and they were hurt that John Stamos hadn’t reached out to them.

Stamos replied that their claim was “bullsh**” on his Twitter.

He also made yet another jab later on at them about Fuller House season two. It sounds like things aren’t so great between Uncle Jesse and Michelle Tanner. They probably won’t be rejoining the cast anytime soon.
