Whether you discovered Arrow one day browsing Netflix or watched the first episode air live on CW back in 2012, one thing is for sure, you always got excited for the emergence of a new character in the Arrowverse. With every announcement of future heroes and villains debuting on the collection of shows CW has created, fans eagerly speculate as to who might be chosen to take on the role. Many will believe that the fan casting they made in their head sometimes would have been better than the actual casting fans received....

Solo: A Star Wars Story character Enfys Nest is one of the spinoff’s biggest mysteries, as we don’t even know which actor portrayed him (or is it her?) during filming. The galaxy far, far away is a franchise known for its memorable villains, frequently placing figures like Darth Vader and Kylo Ren at the forefront of marketing campaigns. In the case of Solo, however, things have been different. Justifiably focusing on familiar faces like Han, Chewbacca, and Lando Calrissian, the trailers have pushed antagonists like Enfys Nest and Paul Bettany’s Dryden Vos to the back-burner....

There’s always a certain lack of ambition and creativity in awards consideration, especially when it comes to performances, the strength of which are too subjective for an entire voting body to agree on. What makes a performance great? Is it great if it moves you, or if the actor seems to have become someone else? George R. R. Martin recently said that he thought that there was plenty of room for television spinoffs of Game of Thrones. It’s true that there are a lot of different stories set in Westeros, and a spinoff would allow for more stories to be told. Spinoffs have a lot of potential - but they also can be hit-or-miss. In some cases, like Pinky and the Brain (1995) or Better Call Saul (2015), a spinoff is successful because it balances what viewers loved about the original show with new material and innovation....

Thanos is one of the most feared and destructive antagonists in comic book lore. First introduced in Iron Man #55 alongside Drax the Destroyer, Thanos dissed the title hero as a “primitive life form” and proclaimed his lofty ambitions of conquering Earth. Ah yes, Gilmore Girls. Perhaps one of the CW/WB’s greatest accomplishments. This show has something for everyone, whether you’re an Emily or a Lorelai. Well, ladies and gents, it could be returning yet again! Back in 2016, Netflix released a four-episode miniseries featuring everyone’s favorite mother-daughter pair, and according to producer Amy Sherman-Palladino, season two is very possible. Tina Fey first came to audience’s attention during her tenure on Saturday Night Live from 2000 to 2006. She had been a writer for the show for a few years prior to that, brought on board by Adam McKay, but this was her time to shine on camera. After that stint, she struck out on her own with the beloved NBC sitcom, 30 Rock. The show, which details the antics behind the scenes of a fictional sketch comedy series, lasted seven seasons from 2006 to 2012, consisting of one hundred and thirty-eight episodes....

With 2015 officially in our rear view mirror, we find ourselves less than three months away from the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the second chapter in DC’s Extended Universe. The follow-up to 2013’s Man of Steel has succeeded in stirring comic book fans into a frenzy, but in a few short weeks, we’ll learn whether or not Zack Snyder’s superhero epic can live up to the hype....

Horror movies for the last 40 years have gone through something of a Golden Age. Higher body counts, splashier FX, more drive to push the envelope for what the MPAA will allow — all this has resulted in a horror fanbase that eats, sleeps, and breathes the genre. We still remember our first encounter with that kind of horror — it was the 1980 Boogeyman directed by Ulli Lommel. In retrospect, it’s difficult to pinpoint what was so unnervingly terrifying about that film, but it worked well enough at the time to get a quickly slapped-together sequel (consisting mainly of footage from the first)....

The last main series Dragon Quest game to be released outside of Japan was Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies for the Nintendo DS in 2009. After a huge letter campaign from a group of fans in France, Square Enix were convinced to bring two more games from the series to the west. These are Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past, released on the 16th of September 2016, and Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King which will come out in 2017....

The Boondock Saints is a genuine cult classic, a relic from a time when streaming services and devoted indie film companies couldn’t be relied upon to save struggling independent films. The film follows the MacManus brothers, played by Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus, who go on what they see as a holy crusade to rid Boston of organized crime. On their tail is Agent Smecker (Willem Dafoe), who seems to be able to use forensics to see exactly what happened in each gun battle....

If there’s one thing anyone who’s seen even a single episode of Grey’s Anatomy knows, it’s that the series delves into the various nuances of dating, relationships, and marriage from time-to-time with a little bit of medicine thrown in for good measure. The series may be about surgery, but that’s really only the setting when you get right down to it. Like all of Shonda Rhimes’ shows, relationships are pretty much everything that’s going on and Grey’s Anatomy is filled to the brim with them....
